Gabriel’s real name is Brigham McNeely, and he is the director of the movie. Just like his name implies in Metamorphosis Movie, Gabriel was the angel that Nicole did not know she needed.

Gabriel met Nicole in a dark, lonely and dangerous world, and he started to lead her out of darkness into the light. But was it going to be that easy for him? Of course not. Zach would not tolerate Gabriel leading Nicole away from him, no matter what form Gabriel took.
