Part 1. What is Runaway Princess Bride Movie About?
I know you’re dying to know a bit more about the story that the Runaway Princess Bride cast has brought to life, so I won’t keep you in the dark any longer.
The plot follows Riley Jones, a young and beautiful girl who is trying to prove herself in the noble industry of wine connoisseurs. Her enhanced senses of smell and taste are out of this world, thus her mentor supports her ideal to become a well-known sommelier.
The possibility of a bright future shatters once again, as her parents, Dina and Barry Jones, professional scammers, trick Ryley into marrying Corbin, a man who apparently likes the girl and wants to help the Jones’ financially.
On their wedding day, Corbin tries to assault a disgusted Ryley, who flees and hides in a stranger’s room, asking for help.
Xander agrees to help Ryley, since there was no coincidence that he was staying at the same hotel where the wedding was about to take place. He knew the girl’s true identity and wanted to protect her.
Corbin also knew about Ryley’s heritage and made a deal with her parents, or better said, the people who raised her since her biological mother died. He wants to marry the girl and take possession of her inheritance.
Ryley was supposed to be a princess, but she disappeared when she was a little girl. Xander, or prince Alexander, was duke Maximus’ friend and he promised him that he would search for the missing girl and marry her.
Without knowing both men’s true agenda, Ryley discards Corbin and marries Xander, continuing her job as a future sommelier and her part time job as a night stripper. She wanted to help Casper, her brother, attend music school.
Just like Ryley, Casper was also used by Dina and Barry to gain financial benefits from different people, making him feign different disabilities to attract people’s sympathy. While the Jones’ keep getting in cahoots with Corbin to force Ryley to go back to that avaricious man, Casper is the one helping his sister avoid their mother’s dirty tricks.
A subplot follows prince Alexander and his brother prince Leopold as the latter is chosen to ascend to the throne due to the king’s illness. Although his father’s sickness seems suspicious to Alexander and he doesn’t approve his brother’s ascendence to the throne, he can’t make any accusations.
It’s interesting to watch as the two subplots merge at some point, and how Ryley gets to be the key to unraveling the truth about the king’s poisoning.
