Part 1: Love Captive To A Mafia Boss Book Main Story
Love Captive To A Mafia Boss book tells stories about Melisa Wise, an ordinary girl who knows nothing about the underworld force that rules the world she lives in. So, hearing news about her dead father getting involved with Miami’s most dangerous mafia gang, the Torrex gang, shocks her.
Melisa has been living with her beloved grandmother since her father’s death. Unfortunately, Melisa’s beloved grandmother, whom she refers to as “Nana”, has been hospitalized since the beginning of the chapters in Love Captive To A Mafia Boss book. The surgery costs are too much for her, leading to Melisa’s desperation.
Elijah Torrex, the current Torrex gang leader, remembers Melisa and the debts her father owes. So, he forces Melisa to have a contract marriage with Hayden Torrex, his son and the Torrex gang’s heir. He doesn’t care if Melisa never remembered what her father did and she never knew this Torrex guy. He exclaimed, “Failure to do so will result in you getting jailed,”
Feeling afraid and desperate for more money, Melisa agreed to the contract. Hayden Torrex’s invisibility during the first few hours didn’t only escalate her anxiety. Other guests also started gossiping about her as a gold-digger. After all, Hayden is notorious for his killing reputation. Any woman would be lucky to get close to him, let alone touch him.
Melissa soon feels the chilling killer-blood vibes in Hayden. To make matters even worse, Hayden is already married.
Now that Melissa knows she can’t escape from the contract, will she flee the marriage? Or, will Hayden divorce his current wife and learn to love Melissa?
Part 2: Love Captive To A Mafia Boss Book Main Roles
Melisa Wise
Melisa Wise of Love Captive To A Mafia Boss book used to live peacefully with her father and grandmother in her childhood. Her father passed away since the main story hadn’t begun, and her beloved Nana got hospitalized at the start of the book’s chapter. These things lead her to seemingly insurmountable financial and emotional debts.
Melisa’s encounter with Elijah Torrex, the current Torrex gang leader, changes her life. Elijah meets her up with Hayden Torrex and forces her to marry and live with the Torrex heir. Melisa eventually falls for the mafia boss’s heir, who also returns her feelings.
Hayden Torrex
Hayden Torrex, the main male character of Love Captive To A Mafia Boss book, faces a unique situation in inheriting the Torrex gang’s wealth. He is not the first-born son. Yet, his father appoints him as one, just like any other character in the book recognizing him as the heir.
Even though at first, Hayden’s situation is unique, his father’s choice of him as the heir is because his older brother has been deceased since the main story hasn’t commenced. Hayden’s heart has always felt empty since his older brother’s death.
Hayden might have been married to Amelia at the start of Love Captive To A Mafia Boss book. Yet, his father approves of his relationship with Melisa more than Amelia due to Amelia’s infertility. He finally realizes his feelings for Melisa.
Part 3: Love Captive To A Mafia Boss Book Theme
I notice an arranged marriage as the primary theme that encircles Love Captive To A Mafia Boss book. Yet, since the main male character has a mafia background and the mafia gang’s lives become the book’s integral elements, I can feel the mafia ways of arranging marriage with strangers.
No mafias would ever understand the sacred values of things in the world. If they ever wished to protect someone, that would be racket protection. The protected person should also offer their most valuable things. That way, the mafias can entangle average people in their dangerous games. Those are the powerful messages from the themes of Love Captive To A Mafia Boss.
Mafias often operate at night, and they only operate during day to stage the scenes. So, I’m not surprised if “Miami, 11:00 A.M.” became the start of the book’s chapter. No way any Torrex gang members, including Elijah and Hayden Torrex, would give the audiences early surprises about their statuses as the mafia!
The rest of the chapters can have nightly time settings, especially any settings involving Hayden’s room. Coupled with Hayden’s intensity, complex characters, and the “instant-kill” looks, these settings or elements in the book only make him even feel darker and more dangerous (yet, too sweet for Melisa to handle!).
Part 4: Love Captive To A Mafia Boss Book Movie Version
The Movie Version
I have recently browsed for “Love Captive To A Mafia Boss”; it seems this book has the movie version with the same title and main characters. However, many of the adapted movie versions misspell Melisa’s name. Seeing the movie versions would sometimes confuse the audiences if the first name is Melisa, Melissa, Malissa, or others, as they sound identical.
The book version only has 17 published chapters, while the written version provides a sad ending by emphasizing Melisa’s flirting with Josh while she got herself drunk. Josh is the romantic foe to Hayden, and we also see the same thing in the movie version.
However, the movie version’s much longer episodes of 68 episodes permit more exposure to supporting characters who should bear more potential in driving the plots, such as Amelia. Amelia’s jealousy is more evident in the movie version, especially starting from the movie’s middle parts.
One of the disadvantages of the movie version is that some scenes were missing. For instance, we can only know Melisa’s background of meeting up with the dangerous Torrex mafia gang when we read the book. Yet, that’s how the movie version pictures Melisa as a much more daring woman than in the book version.
Alternative Movie
Mafias and sick loved ones are the primary backgrounds detected in both the book and movie versions of Love Captive To A Mafia Boss. These things don’t only burden Melisa, but she also gets herself involved in a dangerous game where she can never escape her destiny.
Then, again, those whole “dangerous game” things make mafia romance movies feel even more exciting to watch. No wonder many of them have become trending movies. Speaking about the most trending mafia romance movies, ReelShort has recently launched “The Return Of My Mafia Husband” movie.
Like Love Captive To A Mafia Boss, The Return Of My Mafia Husband movie also pictures the romantic relationship dynamics between an average girl and her mafia husband. Leo Marino, the don of the Marino family, has been bound to a wheelchair for the past eight years. The Marino family should be the wealthiest and most powerful ruling mafia family in the universe. Now that Leo is wheelchair-bound, nobody believes his words, even though he has said it out loud.
Leo still dates Olivia even when he is wheelchair-bound. Since Olivia is only an average girl, she never realizes that her significant other is a mafia. Yet, Leo decides to keep things that way, which, unfortunately, results in Olivia’s classmates’ bullying. We can think of these classmates’ bullies as the name-calling guests in the early chapters of Love Captive To A Mafia Boss.
