What must have caused Becky Jacobs to enter a marriage contract with Nick Walton in the first place? Playing By The Billionaire’s Rules Movie has it that Nick had a fiancé, so what was the need of the contract? I bet that if you dig deeper into the movie, you will find out the answer to that question but apart from it just being a contract, it came with rules.
One of the rules of the marriage contract between Becky Jacobs and Nick Walton was that both would not fall in love with each other. It must have been easy to say at the time of the contract signing but along the line, things took another turn, and love was in the air soon after.
Becky was a humble girl from a humble background, and as if being from a humble background was not enough, she had an abusive woman for a mother. As in, extremely abusive to the point of hurting Becky, her child.
Becky’s mother, an alcoholic, used to collect money from loan sharks to keep herself going with her substance abuse, and at a time, she could not afford to pay back, so she sold Becky to one of her loan shark customers. Can you imagine? What a despicable woman!
That was how Becky’s life had been full of ups and downs, and she had tough luck until she got into a contract marriage with Nick Walton. The contract marriage was to last for three years and had rules governing it which included Becky not falling in love, but she did, and it burnt her for the best part of it.
Becky, while she was contracted to Nick Walton, had a lot of negativities to deal with in the form of resistance from Nick’s mother and his fiancé. All that Nick’s mother wanted was for her son to get acquainted with someone of his status, and not for him to stoop so low to Becky’s level.
Also, there was Yasmin Bennet, who was Nick’s fiancé. She would hate such a person as Beck naturally, wouldn’t she? Yasmin despised Becky for stealing Nick’s attention, and as the villain of the movie, there was no length she did not go in trying to upheaval the relationship between Nick and Becky.
It was just a contract anyway, but could Yasmin stomach the fact? Or maybe she did not even know. She plotted and schemed against Becky, but there was literally nothing anyone could do about someone who was in love, so she did not win in the long run.
Becky, having fallen in love with Nick, found out that she was pregnant with him. First of all, to break the rule of falling in love with him, she had to pay a fine of 10 million dollars and face the embarrassment of thinking that Nick was in love with someone else.
A tough one for Becky in Playing By The Billionaire’s Rules Movie if you ask me. Nick was a very misunderstood man, so for nearly every action he took, there was bound to be a misunderstanding of it, and that included when he abruptly terminated the three-year contract with Becky.
Becky, who was already in love with Nick at the time, thought that Nick did not love her back and that was why he terminated the contract, unknown to her that Nick was in love with her as well, and that he broke off the contract so that he could be with her officially.
Fearing what would happen, Becky hid the news of her being pregnant with Nick’s baby from him. There were a thousand and one reason why Becky did that.
One of which was that she didn’t want Nick to know that she loved him so that she would not pay 10 million dollars which she could not even afford, and another reason was that she felt that Nick did not love her, and that if he heard that she was pregnant with his baby, he would take the baby from her.
Well, of course, Nick found out that Becky was pregnant with his child, and when he asked Becky about it, she lied, making Nick all the more upset with her.

Becky Jacobs
Becky is the female lead character of the movie. Sweet and innocent, she was born into a difficult life, one that had her get into a myriad of bad and bitter experiences including being sold to a loan shark by her mother to offset a loan.
Becky went into a love contract with a certain billionaire and as much as she had been instructed never to fall in love with this man, Becky could not help it as the heart usually wants what it wants.
According to Playing By The Billionaire’s Rules Movie, Becky not only fell in love with this billionaire man, but also got pregnant for his baby, one that had her feeling even more insecure as she thought that the love was not reciprocated, and that her baby would be taken from her by this man if he found out that she was pregnant.
Becky was in trouble regardless. She had broken the rule of the love contract which stated that she would pay 10 million dollars if she fell in love. Becky was further heartbroken when she heard that the man whom she had been in a love contract with and was pregnant with his child, was engaged to a wealthy heiress that Becky stood nothing against as far as wealth and affluence were involved.
Nick Walton
Nick Walton is the male lead character of the movie, and he is the person who had gotten into a love contract with Becky. Nick Walton, although wealthy as they come, was a considerate man who did not look down on others just because he had more money and influence than them, although, he was often misunderstood because he had a strong character.
Nick Walton was also in love with Becky, but there was no way she could tell because, of course, she did not consider herself worthy enough for a billionaire to fall in love with. Nick never had the intention of doing half of the negative things that Becky thought he would do to her. In fact, when he terminated the three-year love contract that he had with Becky, it was for a positive reason which was to get closer and more official with her. Nick was supposedly engaged to the heiress due to pressure from his mother.
Yasmine Bennet
The supporting female character of the movie, Yasmine Bennet was Becky’s direct rival. Yasmin was the heiress that Nick was supposedly engaged with, and unlike Becky, Yasmine was a handful.
Yasmine hated poor people and turned her nose up at them. She did not spare them the humiliation at all.
Of course, Yasmine made Becky’s life a living hell when she found out that she was close to Nick. Yasmin was Nick’s mother’s choice of the type of partner that he should have, considering his status.
Charles Morris
Charles was literally the only person that Becky could trust in this movie. He was her best friend and her doctor. An OBGYN doctor’s expertise is on pregnant women and taking care of a woman’s reproductive organs, and apart from being Becky’s friend, Charles was also her doctor, offering her emotional, physical and mental health. He was Becky’s support system while she went through difficult times throughout the course of the movie.
Charles was literally the only person that Becky could trust in this movie. He was her best friend and her doctor.
