Honestly, it is refreshing to be jolted back in time as far as nineteen years ago in Pride And Prejudice Movie. This movie, released in 2003, would spark memories in the minds of viewers who were at that time, in college and experiencing such an intense moment in their lives.

Elizabeth Bennet and her roommates all had their heads and hearts deep in one young man or the other, as they tried to navigate and control their hormones while understanding what their feelings were for each other.

If there is any place and stage of one’s life where romance is taken seriously, in fact, a bit too seriously, it is in college and it is shown firsthand in this movie through the way the young boys and girls felt deeply emotional about each other in a negative and positive light.

Part 1: What Is Pride And Prejudice Movie About?

Pride And Prejudice Movie is about four female college roommates who, apart from having their minds in their careers and businesses, fell in love with others, and tried to ride the tide of not knowing if their feelings for each other was valid.

Elizabeth Bennet, who is the narrator of the movie, was a writer, who, apart from trying to get her books published and accepted in reputable publishing houses, fought to balance her emotions as she had heavy feelings for others.

Then, there was Lydia, whose parents were the owners of the apartment where she and her roommates lived. Lydia was the flashiest of the four girls, and her love life, just like how flashy she was, was the most toxic, confusing, and adventurous. At a point, Lydia’s boyfriend convinced her to get married to him in Vegas, and before her other roommates knew what was happening, Lydia was on her way to Vegas.

Mind you, these girls, as much as they all had their love interests specifically for them, had their lives intertwined with each other, with one person’s decision always affecting the rest of them.

Pride And Prejudice Movie starts off at a slow pace, and the impatient viewers might decide to turn it off after the first few minutes, but that is what this article is for. Will Darcy, well, he was more advanced than all the young men around him, but he was caught up in the loop. When he expressed himself to Elizabeth, he did it in the most thoughtless way, and it pissed Elizabeth off to the core.

Then there was playboy Jack Wickam. Jack was first hooked with Elizabeth, but whatever happened to their relationship, which at first seemed like it was going to blossom into something nice?

Then there was the overtly religious young man called Collins. Collins, as religious as he was, wanted a very flashy lady. He was not flashy, not at all, and the girl out of the four roommates who fit Collins, was Mary, and she threw herself at him, but Collins always rejected her until, with the help of her roommates, Mary succeeded in gaining Colin’s attention.

Campus romance. Love, status, and prejudice. The movie, which is an excerpt of a novel by Jane Austen, magnifies the theme of love, and how prejudice between the characters tends to negatively affect their intentions towards each other.

During the course of the movie, one would see the characters, especially one female character called Caroline, try to spoil the harmonious romantic affair that was finally blending between Elizabeth and Will.

Elizabeth Bennet

Pride And Prejudice Movie is narrated both in first and third-person points of view, and it is narrated by the character, Elizabeth Bennet, whose real name is, Kam Heskin.

Elizabeth, although there are so many potent female characters in the movie, can be said to be the lead female character of the movie. She was a writer, who, as much as she desired to succeed in her writing career, looked forward to a romantic affair, as her feelings were on the line most of the time.

A rather soft and caring girl, she looked out for others, and often put the affairs of others before herself, especially her roommates whom she saw as her sisters, but that often backfired, as she fell short of what was expected of her.

Well, she was a generally good person, so her character ended up being advantaged after she had gone through so many tedious times that tested her strength.

Elizabeth, although she hated him at first, eventually fell in love with the man who changed her life regarding her career, Will Darcy.

At the end of the movie, Elizabeth left Utah, United States for London, where she had three months of a promising career related trip, and while she was there, her love with Will blossomed to the fullest without a doubt this time.

Will Darcy is a serious character in Pride And Prejudice full movie. Will, as already mentioned in this article, was caught up in the loop, even though he was quite different from the rest. Will was a businessman.

In the beginning of the movie where Will’s character was first spotted, there was a party going on in campus, but while everyone was outside dancing, drinking, and having a good time as far as they were concerned, Will locked himself up in the car garage, reading a book.

It was at this same party that the four roommates started to get paired up with the boys that they were interested in, but not Will.

Will considered everyone around him too basic and empty for him to waste his precious time on. In fact, he mentioned that girls could not even make a complete sentence, and as far as that party was concerned, he was right.

It was this serious-minded nature of Will that made him fall for Elizabeth, who was a writer. The way Will expressed himself to Elizabeth was evident of how superior he saw himself compared to every other person around him, and because of that Elizabeth hated and rejected him at first.
