This movie narrates the story of Clarisse, a young 21-year-old girl who had to fight for her life. In Resisting Mr. Lloyd: An Age Gap Romance Novel, Clarisse had lost her mother, and her father had brought in his mistress soon after. This mistress claimed to have raised Clarisse, but as soon as Clarisse was of age, she suggested that Clarisse get married so that her rich husband could fund her stepbrother’s lifestyle.

Austin, however, was confirmed not to be a scammer and was asked by his grandmother to get married to Clarisse since, after all, she had, as an old lady, come all the way to his construction site to remind him about how badly she needed him to get married.

Hubert Morgan is Clarisse’s father in Resisting Mr. Lloyd: An Age Gap Romance Book. Hubert completely turned his back on his daughter at the time she needed him the most.

Hubert had lost his wife, Clarisse’s mother when Clarisse was still incapable of taking care of herself, and although the late wife of Hubert Morgan left money for Clarisse to go to school, Hubert allowed his new wife/mistress to spend the entire money, leaving Clarisse with nothing.

Eventually, he asked Clarisse to leave his house when she became old enough.

Meredith Lloyd
