A timid and weak prince, born to a concubine from a former dynasty, was scorned by the people and neglected by the emperor. As an adult, he was never granted a fief and was constantly bullied. His mother, the concubine, begged for her son’s title for three days and nights, kneeling in the rain in front of the palace. The emperor, disapproving of both her and her son, grew suspicious of the prince’s true parentage. In an act of ruthless punishment, the emperor forced the concubine to walk across a bed of nails, leading to her death. The crown prince, through deceit, tricked the weak prince into taking his own life, resulting in the prince’s death.
A modern-day soldier, who transmigrates into the body of the prince, inherits his legacy and vows to avenge his mother’s death, determined to overthrow the dynasty.
